We have photographed weddings on this peninsula for over a decade. We know which palm casts the perfect shadow at 4 pm, and exactly when the light turns to gold over Playa Virador.

The Light Guide
Morning: soft, diffused light in the gardens and spa area. Perfect for getting ready photos with the jungle as backdrop.
3 pm to 5 pm: the ceremony sweet spot. The peninsula faces west and northwest, so the sun sets over the water and the golden hour here lasts longer than almost anywhere in Guanacaste.
Sunset: Playa Virador for the couple session. Ten minutes here produce the images you will print large.
Blue hour: the resort's architecture lights up beautifully. This is when we create the dramatic night portrait most couples never think to ask for.
Planning Your Photography Timeline
Ceremonies at the Four Seasons typically start between 4 and 5 pm in dry season. We recommend 30 minutes of couple portraits immediately after the ceremony while your guests enjoy cocktails, then 10 minutes at sunset. Trust us on those 10 minutes. They matter more than any other part of the timeline.
Getting ready locations are spread across the property, so we always work as a two photographer team here, one with each of you.

Do you have experience photographing weddings at Four Seasons Papagayo? Yes. We have photographed weddings across the Papagayo Peninsula for more than ten years and know the property's locations, light and logistics in every season.
Do we need to pay a vendor fee for an outside photographer? Most luxury resorts in Costa Rica have vendor policies. We are happy to coordinate directly with your planner and the resort's events team, something we do regularly.
