How Much Does a Wedding Photographer in Costa Rica Cost?

Costa Rica wedding photography pricing

The price depends on how much of your story you want to preserve.

An intimate ceremony, a complete wedding day and a three day celebration require very different kinds of coverage. The right investment is not simply about choosing a number of hours. It is about deciding which parts of the experience should still feel alive years from now.

The quick answer

Treehouse 1987 wedding photography collections currently begin at $3,800 for an elopement or micro wedding, $5,900 for a traditional wedding day, $7,500 for a complete wedding story and $12,500 for a wedding weekend spanning up to three days.

Understanding the investment

Why photography prices vary so much

Two collections can look similar when reduced to hours and image counts, yet create completely different experiences. Price reflects not only how long a photographer is present, but the team, planning, logistics and final pieces needed to tell the story well.

01

The shape of the celebration

Four hours may preserve an intimate ceremony beautifully. A wedding with separate getting ready locations, a full reception and several events needs more time and often more than one photographer.

02

The photography team

Two photographers allow us to preserve simultaneous moments. One of us can remain with the couple while the other documents family, guests, details and the parts of the day you never personally see.

03

Location and logistics

Costa Rica wedding days can move between villas, beaches, gardens and resorts. Travel time, remote locations, weather and changing light all influence how coverage should be designed.

04

Film, albums and delivery

Medium format film, priority previews, handcrafted albums and coverage of additional events transform photography from a record of one day into a complete family archive.

If the welcome party is where your favorite people meet for the first time, it is not an extra. It is chapter one.

The best collection is the one that leaves nothing meaningful outside the story.

Choosing intentionally

Which collection fits your wedding?

Instead of beginning with a number of hours, begin with the story. Ask which moments would feel incomplete if they were missing from your final gallery.

Choose Bliss

Everything meaningful happens within a few hours

Bliss is designed for elopements, ceremonies with a small guest list and celebrations with a beautifully concentrated timeline.

Choose Lush

You want the full wedding day preserved

Lush works well when the story begins with preparations and moves naturally through the ceremony, portraits, dinner and the beginning of the reception.

Choose Evergreen

The people and atmosphere matter as much as the schedule

Evergreen offers more space for candid interactions, family, reception energy, medium format film and the events surrounding the main wedding day.

Choose Ethereal

Your wedding is a weekend, not a single event

Ethereal is the strongest choice when friends and family are traveling to Costa Rica for several days and the welcome party, wedding and time afterward all belong to one story.

More than wedding day hours

What your investment is really covering

A wedding collection begins long before the first photograph and ends long after the final dance. The invisible work is what allows the visible experience to feel calm.

Before

Planning with the photographs in mind

We help shape a timeline around Costa Rica’s light, travel between locations and the moments that deserve room to happen naturally.

During

Attention without interruption

We guide when guidance is useful and step back when the moment should remain untouched. You stay present while we follow the story.

After

A gallery that feels like one story

Every selected photograph is edited individually so the final gallery holds one consistent emotional and visual language.

Budgeting without regret

Three questions worth asking

Comparing photographers only by hours and image counts can make very different services appear identical. These questions reveal much more.

01

Have you seen a complete gallery?

Instagram shows the most visually dramatic moments. A complete gallery reveals how a photographer handles family, weather, ceremonies, dark receptions and everything between the portraits.

02

Will the coverage match the real timeline?

Choosing fewer hours only works when the celebration genuinely fits within them. Otherwise the day begins to bend around the photography instead of the photography serving the day.

03

Do you trust how they see people?

Editing trends change. Trust, emotional awareness and the ability to anticipate a moment are what make a gallery remain meaningful after the visual trends have moved on.

Frequently asked questions

Before choosing your collection

Does wedding photography include video?

Video is not automatically included in our photography collections. We collaborate with selected filmmakers, including Bacalao Films and Kiinu Wedding Films, and can request a custom quote based on your celebration.

Can we customize a wedding photography collection?

Yes. A custom collection can be created when your wedding does not fit naturally within Bliss, Lush, Evergreen or Ethereal. We recommend beginning with the collection closest to your plans and adjusting only what is genuinely needed.

Can medium format film be added?

Yes. One roll of medium format film can be added for $450, three rolls for $1,150 or full film day coverage for $2,800. Evergreen already includes one roll, while Ethereal includes three.

What happens if we need another hour?

Additional wedding day coverage is available for $750 per hour. We can also help you determine whether it is truly needed after reviewing the timeline.

How far in advance should we inquire?

We accept only a limited number of Costa Rica weddings each year, so reaching out once your date and venue are confirmed gives you the strongest chance of securing availability.

Your photographs should fit the story

Tell us what you are planning.

Share your date, location and the events you are imagining. We will recommend the collection that preserves the celebration completely, without adding coverage simply for the sake of adding more.
